Manufacturer Says Valve Technology Projects Up To 30%Water and Sewer Savings

With a special valve its inventors say has resulted in up to a 30% water and sewage savings in various industries, Solio Ventures is bringing its Solio valve by Aqua Flow technology to the car wash market.

The Solio valve is a patented device installed directly on the owner’s side of the car wash’s water supply line at the meter that optimizes water flow to reduce waste and lower monthly water bills. Constructed with durable, medical-grade stainless steel and backed by a 15-year warranty, the company says the valve can be installed quickly, making it a smart, long-lasting solution for efficient water management.

The water savings comes from the design of the Solio valve, which establishes a compression zone upstream. According to Solio Ventures, the zone compresses air within the waterline, preventing it from being measured as volume by the water meter. It does so without reducing PSI or volume of water.

By eliminating air in the system, the valve lowers costs and benefits the environment, the company added.

The valve creates a reverse compression stream that converts the water flow from a super turbulent to a laminar flow. This process stabilizes velocity and pressure, reducing irregular fluctuations and ensuring accurate and efficient water usage. Its ability to maintain stable water pressure extends the lifespan of plumbing systems and prevents issues like water hammer.

The valve has been successful in many hotel and hospitality locations. At the Doubletree Hotel in Santa Fe, NM, hotel operators documented a 25.3% reduction in their monthly water consumption cost and an overall 8.1% reduction in monthly water usage. After a restaurant operator installed the valve in 36 restaurant locations, including Chili’s, Macaroni Grill, On the Border and P.F. Chang’s, the operator said all locations reduced water costs by about 25% over an 8-year period. Solio says the average ROI for its clients is six to nine months and this includes car washes.

Before a valve is installed, Solio will review the most recent 12 months of water and sewage bills of the car wash for each water line servicing the property to determine average consumption and bills. Detailed analytics will be provided to the operator free of charge after the analysis.

Solio will coordinate with a local licensed plumber to conduct a site inspection before installation to determine which valve is needed. Eight valve sizes are offered, ranging from ¾-inch to 8-inches. Solio also produces valves from 10” – 44” for larger commercial applications. The valve will then be installed in a process that usually takes under an hour. After installation, Solio will monitor consumption and report back to the car wash operator with exact results.

Solio says it strives to provide innovative energy and water management solutions that help its clients save money and reduce their carbon footprint. It aims to create a sustainable future by empowering businesses to make smart and profitable energy choices.

In addition to the water valve technology, Solio says it is the first to offer no-liability, no-cost, fully funded solar for commercial and industrial properties allowing property owners to generate, store, and manage energy on-site using advanced clean technologies which can unlock new revenue streams, boost net operating income, and enhance property value.
