A PureMagic Car Wash location in North Knoxville, Tennessee, became the unexpected setting for a remarkable family milestone early July 20 morning when a baby girl was born in the parking lot.
Sarah and Ivan Powers were traveling to the hospital when Sarah’s labor rapidly progressed, forcing the couple to pull into the PureMagic Car Wash on Old Broadway. After calling 911, Ivan delivered their daughter, Laiklynn Powers, in the vehicle before emergency responders arrived. Mother and baby were later transported to the hospital, where both were reported healthy and doing well.
Ivan has recognized he has given Laiklynn the nickname “Bubbles” because of her incredible birth.
While the car wash was closed at the time of the incident, the location provided a safe, well-lit place for the family to stop during the unexpected emergency.
