The 11th Women in Carwash Conference Jan 2025

It’s the Women in Carwash™ Conference, and it’s growing, evolving, and bigger than that first idea of bringing women together for workshops and camaraderie. The 11th Women in Carwash Conference, January 19-21, 2025, held in Charleston, South Carolina.

This conference has morphed into something so much more than that idea. What they’re hearing now is the excitement from women such as Jia, of El Car Wash, who called to share that they are growing, fast, and that so many of their managers are now women, their workforce is now made up of almost half women, in all positions.

They’ve heard from others, like Summer, of the West Coast Sun Day Car Wash who are opening their sixth location and that all of their managers are women. How about Summit Car Wash Holdings who offer their ElevateHer program, a program that not only encourages the growth of their female teams, it’s a full-on, focused plan to bring more women into the car wash industry and to mentor them into positions at all levels, with management the core vision.

When the initial concept for the Women in Carwash Conference began, one goal was to offer women in the car wash industry an event of their own. There were so few women in the industry, and the other tradeshows were geared toward the habitual man-run industry that women tended to work the tradeshows and then head back to their hotel rooms with little networking and sharing.

The Women in Carwash™ Conference has evolved into a gathering of like-minded women who bring so much to this industry. The conference is owned and run by Brenda Jane Johnstone with the help of her son and daughter-in-law, but so many women have taken ownership of it and are now helping expand on everything offered. For example, Jacqueline Goohs of Working Globally, Closing Locally, Jenny Klismet, CFO of Vaughan Industries, and Tina O’Daniels of Best Version Media have assumed control of
the L.E.A.R.N. Newsletter.

Women love helping other women, drawing on other women’s experiences, and sharing knowledge without any strings attached. Many women involved with the Women in Carwash™ Conference are contributing educational articles for the L.E.A.R.N. Newsletter to better educate those who
may be new to the industry.

They are launching a new podcast series featuring interviews with women in the car wash industry who
will speak about topics that resonate with them and might inspire others.

“So, as we grow, we encourage you to share, invite your colleagues, to join an upcoming Women in Carwash™, because your success is my business. My open-door policy to your valuable feedback remains intact and stronger than ever. If you have comments or a story idea for an upcoming edition, or if you or you know someone who might want to be a guest on our new podcast series, send me a note to bjj@womenincarwash.com.” –Brenda Jane Johnstone, Founder of Women in Carwash Conference.
